Glamorgan 268 & 117-5.  Notts 373.  Glamorgan lead by 12 runs with 5 second innings wickets remaining.

Apart from a mid afternoon blip when they lost 7 wickets for 37 runs, the second day of this Second Eleven Championship match against Glamorgan certainly belonged to Notts.

Following the early loss of Matt Wood, the day was dominated by a stand of 195 from Steven Mullaney and young Sam Wood .

Mullaney played solidly and interspersed hard hit boundaries with an eye for the quick single and at times resembled Mark Ealham, from whom he has inherited the number five shirt. Mullaney hit 18 boundaries in his four-hour stay facing 147 balls.

Sam Wood announced his arrival with four boundaries in an over from pace bowler Will Owen and unleashed some glorious cover drives as he raced to his 50 in 52 balls, with all but ten runs coming from boundary hits.

He seemed assured of a century but on 96 he was caught on the square leg boundary. At  that point Notts were 336-4. Mullaney was out six runs later and Glamorgan fought back with Will Owen taking three wickets in a thirteen over spell to finish with 4-87 as Notts collapsed to 373 all out.

Charlie Shreck then had Glamorgan's century maker from the first innings, Tom Maynard leg before as Notts pressed home their first innings advantage. Graeme White then caused problems for the visitors capturing three wickets, the last of these being their most experienced batsmen Will Bragg, bowled off the penultimate ball of the day to leave Notts in a commanding position.
