Notts Premier League
Caythorpe 145 Notts Academy 146-7
Notts Academy (20 pts) beat Caythorpe (4pts) by 3 wickets

After the disappointment of having their Saturday game against Attenborough washed out, Notts Academy recorded their first victory of the season against Caythorpe on Monday.

Caythorpe batted first on winning the toss and it was soon evident that batting was going to be an awkward proposition as wickets fell on a regular basis. Only Billy Wright with 52 from 121 balls which included three boundaries could compile a score, Steve Randall (23) was the only other batsman to reach double figures.

The Academy bowled well with Jake Ball (3-24) and Dan Cumming (3-33) leading the way with Adam Shepherd taking (2-21).

Notts found runs equally hard to come by and were thankful for a watchful 34 from Sam Kelsall and 20 from Adam Tilcock. At 116-7 the game was still in the balance but Jake Ball scored 20 from 16 balls and the winning runs followed from from Adam Shepherd who sealed victory with a six with seven overs to spare. Jim Hemmings took 3-32 for the home side.
