Opposing ICC World Twenty20 finalists Dirk Nannes and Stuart Broad have united behind a campaign to encourage new supporters to visit Trent Bridge to watch Notts Outlaws in Friends Provident t20 action this season.

Notts host Derbyshire Falcons at Trent Bridge on Friday 11 June and chose a Nottingham cinema to launch their marketing campaign for the tournament.

Guests of the club were addressed by Broad, Nannes, Chris Read and Samit Patel ahead of the premiere screening of a promotional video showcasing the club’s ‘Put Some Colour In Your Cricket’ concept.

The video features striking footage of Samit Patel hitting paint-filled cricket balls and will form the centrepiece of a revamped match presentation at Trent Bridge.

“It’s exciting to be involved with a club who seem so keen on their Twenty20 cricket and we’ve got a great team on paper that will be looking to achieve success,” said Nannes, the leading wicket-taker at the ICC Word Twenty20.

“It’s a new environment for me and I’m excited to be playing for Notts and I’m hopeful that I can take some wickets in the tournament.

“Huss has told me that we’ll be led well and I know the way that he and Darren Pattinson go about their cricket. He said that this is a good side and that Trent Bridge is a great place to play and watch cricket.

“I love the Twenty20 experience and I’m really excited to be here.”

Stuart Broad will hope that his England commitments will restrict his appearances for Notts this season but his prowess in Twenty20 cricket will be a valuable asset if he is released to play for his county at any stage.

“I want to be in the England team in all forms of the game but I always keep an eye on Notts and I’m always welcomed back into the dressing room when I’m available to play domestic cricket,” said Broad.

“There are a lot of players in the Notts squad who are well equipped to play Twenty20 cricket and Dirk Nannes and David Hussey will only add to that.”
