Neil Edwards will replace Ali Brown in the Nottinghamshire team to face Worcestershire in the LV= County Championship.
Edwards scored freely throughout pre-season and demonstrated decent form in the Second Eleven to put himself in the frame for first team inclusion.
Andre Adams is also expected to take his place in an otherwise unchanged four-day side despite a groin strain endured during last week's victory over Yorkshire at Headingley.
Worcestershire arrive at Trent Bridge having lost both of their LV= County Championship fixtures this season.
