Notts Premier League
Notts Academy 267-8 (50 overs) beat Papplewick and Linby (166) by 101 runs
Notts Academy 20pts Papplewick & Linby 5pts

This match was dominated by a superb century from Sam Kelsall supported by solid bowling displays from Dan Cumming and Adam Dobb.

The visitors, fielding a weakened side, opted to put the Academy into bat hoping that they could perhaps force a draw

The opening stand was progressing nicely when Tom Rowe had to retire having taken a blow to the fingers with the score on 60.

With the introduction of the spin of Dane Straw the innings did not proceed as Notts would have liked as the middle order found ways of getting out to Straw and Alex Lloyd.

Kelsall reached his hundred off 130 balls with 14 fours and a six which was pleasing as he had seemed set for a century in his previous two innings. He was dismissed for 114 from 138 balls ina two and a half hour knock.

Matthew Cross (26) and Adam Dobb (20) were the only other players to reach 20 as they went for quick runs at the end of the innings

Straw had analysis of 4-54 from his full allocation of 15 overs.

Apart from Chris Briggs (34) who took on the arm of Scott Elstone and failed, Husnain Riaz (28) and Aaron Onyon (26), who both gave their wickets away to injudicious shots, none of the other batsmen overstayed their welcome at the crease.

Adam Dobb induced three of the visiting batsmen to give catches and Dan Cumming proved too quick for the lower order batsmen adding a further two wickets to double his tally for the game to 4-20 as he claimed the final wickets with 3.2 overs to spare.

Adam Dobb took 3-42 from 13 overs.
