Nottinghamshire’s innovative Positive Futures programme will share the proceeds from the Cotgrave Paws 10k, a family focussed running event at Cotgrave Country Park.

Positive Futures has made a measurable impact in reducing juvenile crime and encouraging social inclusion in the town by delivering activities for young people.

The event has grown in size since it was launched with 90 runners in 2009 and a parallel 2k fun run will ensure that everyone can take part.

“We have made a firm commitment to improving the lives of young people in Cotgrave and the response to our scheme has surpassed our expectations,” said Positive Futures Co-Ordinator Mark Clifford.

“Members of our group have been tasked with recruiting runners for the fun run and we’re looking for individuals to get involved and for potential sponsors to pledge their support.”

A proportion of the money raised through sponsorship will fund a community pride project managed by participants in Positive Futures.
