Nottinghamshire all-rounder Samit Patel believes that England enough spirit to overturn the deficit in their one day series against India.

Needing a win in Mohali to retain hopes of a series victory, England have called up Graham Onions to replace Chris Woakes who injured his thigh in training.

"The series is still alive and we need to put the first two games behind us and get a win in Mohali,” said Patel.

"We started off the tour pretty well in the two warm-up games but the opposition weren't as good as the Indians and it's been pretty tough but we have to keep doing the right stuff.

"They are playing in their own backyard and we knew what the conditions would be like over here and they know the conditions better than us.

"We have a great team spirit and we stay tight we want to play good, hard cricket."

Patel scored 46 runs in England’s defeat in Delhi yesterday.
