Nottinghamshire players Chris Read, Riki Wessels, Andy Carter and Jake Ball took time out from winter training to visit the Queen's Medical Centre Children's Ward to distribute Christmas presents donated by Official Team Sponsors PKF.

The players spent an hour talking to patients who received toys, tickets and memorabilia.

“It’s heartbreaking to see young children in hospital at this time of year but hopefully we can provide a bit of a distraction at a difficult time," said Read.

“Most of the children we spent time with today are hoping to be home for Christmas and all of the medical staff at QMC do a really excellent job in looking after them."

“We gave presents and match tickets to every child we visited and we hope to see them all at Trent Bridge during the summer.

PKF, a firm of accountants and business advisers who have sponsored the Club's LV= County Championship match shirts for more than a decade, have supported the trip for three years and will continue to support the Club in 2013 following a merger with BDO.
