Nottinghamshire batsman James Taylor has been added to the England Performance Squad for the 2012 international summer season.

The addition means 27 players have now been selected and the squad comprises thirteen centrally contracted players, four players who have been awarded increment contracts and ten other players all of whom have been capped at senior international level.

“James is a talented young player and we feel that his performances this season, including an impressive innings for England Lions last week, merit inclusion in the England Performance Squad,” said National Selector Geoff Miller.

“The EPS is designed to allow the selectors to monitor the development of international players and better prepare them for the demands of the international game.”

Taylor joins Nottinghamshire teammates Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann and Samit Patel in the England Performance Squad.
