Assistant Manager Wayne Noon will lead an eight-strong group on a pre-season trip to Pretoria to aid preparations for the new season.

Andy Carter, Paul Franks, Ajmal Shahzad, Jake Ball, Brett Hutton, Graeme White and Luke Fletcher will benefit from specialist training facilities laid on by former Nottinghamshire bowler Greg Smith.

"Greg has helped to plan the trip and we're hopeful that we'll spend a decent amount of time with him as he has a lot of knowledge to pass on," said Noon.

"We think it's important for the bowlers to have 75 overs in their legs by the time they get to Barbados so they're not having to find their feet out there and that will ensure that we begin the season match sharp."

The group will arrive in South Africa on Sunday 24 February and return to Trent Bridge on Friday 8 March.
