Brett Hutton is back in the wickets after a return to bowling in the past week, and is looking to get more and more as the season continues.

Hutton had been unavailable to bowl in the opening rounds of second team and academy matches but played as a batsman.

“I injured my shoulder when doing weights in the gym and it has been frustrating to be out and not be able to bowl,” Hutton said.

“Being back bowling pain free is a great feeling and I hope to be in the wickets in the coming weeks.”

Hutton is an integral part to both the Academy side and the Second XI and is hoping he can help them do well during the upcoming season.

“In the Academy it is all about improving as a team and the development of a number of individuals in order to win games.

“For me I am hoping to improve my all-round game and get into some good form over the coming season.”

Hutton hopes this will see him push to make a name for himself in the seconds.

“It is one stepping stone after another and if I am going to do well in the twos I need to keep bowling how I know I can.

“I would also like to contribute with the bat throughout the season.

“If I can do this then hopefully I will get my name talked about for some first-team cricket sometime during the season.

“That is the ultimate goal for me and I will work hard to try and achieve that this year.”

Hutton is currently in action in the second team championship fixture against Durham in which he took 1-18 in six overs during Durham’s first innings.
