Nottinghamshire Assistant Manager Wayne Noon has praised the collective efforts of his players ahead of Sunday’s NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final at Trent Bridge (play starts 2.30pm).

Notts sit second in the LV= County Championship, first in Group B of the Royal London One-Day Cup and will face Hampshire this weekend with a place at NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day at stake.

A remarkable run has seen the side suffer two defeats in their last 20 matches.

“The past couple of months have been an easy watch for the coaches,” said Noon, a veteran of 92 first class matches.

“We’re making plans for every game but you need good players to execute those plans and everyone is playing their part.

“It’s very pleasing that we’re seeing contributions from every player and not having to rely on any particular individual to get us over the line.

“We’ve chased big totals and we’ve managed to defend smaller totals but we’ve won nothing yet and we have to keep on top of our form.”

Noon will lead an analysis session on Saturday when the Outlaws reconvene after two days of rest following their victory in Wales.

“Our role ahead of a knockout match is to give the players confidence and to equip them with key pieces of information about their opponents,” said Noon.

“We try to keep it simple but they need to know where the Hampshire batsmen score their boundaries, who’s in and out of form and who bowls well at the death.

“If we do make it through then my first feeling will be one of relief but everyone in our squad is capable of turning it on and it’s a game we’re looking forward to.”
