Nottinghamshire’s Alex Hales’ winter of activity shows no sign of relenting, as following the culmination of England’s tour of Sri Lanka the talented opener is travelling to Hobart to represent the Hurricanes in this winter’s KFC T20 Big Bash League.

His third Big Bash team, following stints with the Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades, the Hurricanes were runners up in last year’s competition, and will be hoping to go one further with Hales at the top of the order.

Hales is the only English player to score a century in a T20 international, registering a stunning unbeaten 116 against Sri Lanka in the ICC World T20 earlier this year.

The Hurricanes will be captained by George Bailey, and boast talent including West Indian all-rounder Darren Sammy, batsman Tim Paine and experienced seamer Ben Hilfenhaus.

Notts Outlaws hope to break the 10,000 barrier when reigning champions Birmingham Bears visit Trent Bridge for a NatWest T20 Blast encounter on Friday 15 May. Adult tickets have been reduced to £10 with further discounts in place for under 16s (£5), under 21s (£7) over 65s (£7) buying in advance.
