Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell will assess where his side sit in the NatWest T20 Blast North Group at the conclusion of Friday's game against Derbyshire at Trent Bridge before resuming his pursuit of overseas talent.
Newell has a list of targets which he is likely to pursue if Notts remain in contention after games against two local rivals this week.
"There is no way of recruting a player in time for our games on Thursday and Friday so we'll have to consider our likelihood of qualification after these games," said Newell.
"I have some names in mind but I have to consider the value they can add, our position in the group and whether things can work within our budget before we make a move."
Newell has ruled out a move for David Hussey who has commitments elsewhere.
