Trent Bridge will host a live screening of La bohème from the Royal Opera House at 7.30pm on Tuesday 15 July.

The all-ticket event will be free of charge aside from a £2 booking fee applied to tickets purchased online or from the ticket hotline (0844 8118711).

The event will make use of the 160 square metre screen installed at Trent Bridge in 2013 – the largest outdoor screen in Europe – as part of a series of free screenings supported nationally by BP and locally by haart estate agents.

Similar events have been long established elsewhere although this is the first event of its kind at Trent Bridge.

“We’re keen to explore new events that are in keeping with the refinement of Trent Bridge and our partnership with the Royal Opera House fits the bill perfectly,” said Justin Tose, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club’s Commercial Director.

“We’re hopeful that this event will strike a chord with our members and supporters but it’s open to all and will also help to introduce a new audience to Trent Bridge.”

Ticket holders will be invited to bring picnics with fair weather access to the outfield to be granted throughout the performance.

La bohème
One freezing Christmas Eve, a struggling poet meets a beautiful, fragile young woman who will change his life forever.

Let yourself be carried away by the emotional power of The Royal Opera’s exquisite and realistic production of La bohème. Immerse yourselves in the colourful artists’ quarter in 19th-century Paris, where every moment is precious, and paying the rent is the last thing on anyone’s mind.

If you’ve never been to an opera before, this is the ideal place to start. Puccini’s magical, heart-tugging music, performed by a superb cast, is guaranteed to captivate you – you may even find you know some of the opera’s wonderful melodies.
