Maggie’s, the charity that provides free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer and their families and friends, is bringing its culture crawl to Nottingham – including a visit to Trent Bridge - on Friday 4 September.

Maggie’s Culture Crawl Nottingham is inspired by the architectural design as walkers get the chance to explore the city discovering cultural, architectural and artistic delights along the way.

The event will depart at 6pm from Maggie’s centre City hospital and will take in nine miles of the city including the New Art Exchange, Nottingham Castle, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground and the Council House; all whilst raising as much money as possible for Maggie’s Nottingham to continue to support people with cancer and their families and friends.

Kate Martin, Centre Head of Maggie’s Nottingham, who will be attending the event, said:  “After 10 years of spectacular events in London it’s wonderful to have a Maggie’s Culture Crawl taking place right here, taking in the sights and cultural gems of Nottingham.

“As a charity Maggie’s Nottingham relies on donations to continue to develop our unique, high quality programme of support.

“I really hope the local community gets behind the event to help us support many people affected by cancer, as well as their family and friends, across the East Midlands."

Registration for the event is £25 and participants are asked to raise a minimum of £100, a fundraising pack full of ideas to make sure each walker reaches their target will be available from the Maggie’s Centre or online.
