England Women have added Nottinghamshire all-rounder Danielle Wyatt to their squad for the three must win Ashes NatWest International T20s against Australia.

The 24-year-old last played for her country in New Zealand in February but has been recalled for the trio of short format fixtures after impressing for her county this summer with scores of 89 against Middlesex, 102 against Somerset and 64 against Surrey.

She joins fellow Nottinghamshire all-rounder Jenny Gunn in the squad and believes that - despite being a long way behind in the multi-format series - England can still retain the urn.

“I’m really excited to be back in the squad and buzzing for the challenge,” Wyatt said.

“My first aim is to train well and earn a place in the starting team, then to contribute to three wins.

“Winning every game is a big ask, but the prize is massive and we all believe it’s possible.

“Chelmsford - a ground where we’ve had some memorable victories in the past, and where we are expecting another sellout crowd - is a great place to start.”

The three NatWest IT20s, which are worth two points each to the winner, will be played on Wednesday 26th August (The Essex County Ground, Chelmsford), Friday 28th August (The BirghtonandHoveJobs.com County Ground, Hove) and Monday 31 August (The SSE SWALEC, Cardiff).

England must win all three encounters to retain the Women’s Ashes, after Australia secured an 8-2 lead in the multi-format series as a result of winning the standalone Kia Women’s Ashes Test (worth four points) and securing a 2-1 victory in the Royal London One-Day Internationals (worth two points each).

Australia require just one more win to take them to an unassailable total of ten points to reclaim the Women’s Ashes.

England Women’s Squad to face Australia: Charlotte Edwards, Katherine Brunt, Georgia Elwiss, Lydia Greenway, Rebecca Grundy, Jenny Gunn, Danielle Hazell, Heather Knight, Laura Marsh, Natalie Sciver, Anya Shrubsole, Sarah Taylor, Lauren Winfield and Danielle Wyatt.

Trent Bridge will host One-Day Internationals against Sri Lanka and Pakistan in 2016. Sign up here to be the first to hear about fixture and ticketing information for these two matches.
