Nottinghamshire captain Chris Read, Riki Wessels and Brett Hutton took time out of their winter training schedule to spend an afternoon at the children’s wards at Queens Medical Centre, distributing presents in partnership with Official Team Sponsors John Pye & Sons.
Read, Wessels and Hutton spent time with children of all ages, as well as donating a cheque for £700 to Nottingham University Hospitals Charity.
“This is a very humbling experience,” said Read.
“There is nothing sadder than seeing children in hospital over Christmas.
“Hopefully we can put a smile on a few faces, and help the families and staff who work tirelessly through the festive period.”
Recently announced Team Sponsors John Pye & Sons are a family-owned auction house based in Nottingham, and will have sponsor all three of Nottinghamshire’s match shirts.
