Nottinghamshire Seconds couldn’t back up their Championship win over Warwickshire as they fell to two T20 defeats at Trent College.

Asked to bat first in the first game, Notts opened with Michael Lumb and Will Root but with last ball of the first over Lumb, on his return to cricketing action, was trapped LBW by Oliver Hannon-Dalby for four.

Hannon-Dalby struck again in the third over when Root edged through to first slip on 13, the second wicket falling with just 17 on the board.

The visitors further asserted their dominance when Tom Milnes removed Freeman (2) and Mark Adair dismissed Wood (9) to leave the hosts struggling on 38-4.

Brett Hutton aimed to up the scoring rate off the bowling of Adair in the ninth but could only find Tom Lewis on the mid-wicket boundary.

Adair had his third just two balls later, Tillcock edging behind to keeper Alex Mellor for one, Notts passing the 50 mark in the 10th over.

Jake Fish and Dominic Brown moved the score on to 81 by the 15th over when Brown was bowled by Sukhjit Singh for 21.

A four from Luke Fletcher brought up the hundred in the 18th over and with last ball of the innings Hannon-Dalby bowled Fish (25), the final score 124-8.

Fletcher remained unbeaten on 27 with the pick of the bowlers being Hannon-Dalby who finished with 3-22 and Adair with 3-15 off four.

Warwickshire’s reply came from opener’s Tom Lewis and Alex Mellor and they had reached 21 by the 3rd over when Luke Fletcher bowled Mellor for six.

That was the last of the joy for the Nottinghamshire bowlers as Lewis and Simon Lambert guided the visitors to a nine-wicket victory.

The winning runs came with a four from Lewis, the final score 128-1, Lewis 68 not out and Lambert 50 not out.

The second match saw roles reversed as Nottinghamshire won the toss inviting Tom Lewis and Alex Mellor to open up for the visitors.

After five overs the score was 32-1 but first ball of the 8th Lambert (16) was caught at long on by Ben Kitt off Brett Hutton’s bowlin, the score on 44-2.

The fifty came up in the 9th over but next over Adam Tillcock bowled Mellor (23) and in the 13th Ed Pollock cut a ball from Matt Carter straight to Kitt at cover for three, the score now 73-4.

After 15 overs the score was 91-4, the hundred came up next over but in the 19th Milnes (22) was out to a catch by Will Root on the long-on boundary off Ben Kitt’s bowling Mark Adair joining Thomason with the score on 129-5.

On the last ball of the innings Thomason completed his fifty from 34 balls with a four, the innings closing on 140-5, Thomason unbeaten on 53 and Adair on three.

Nottinghamshire replied with opener’s Sam Wood and Will Root and were in trouble from the start.

Root (1) was caught by Recordo Gordon off Adair’s bowling in the 2nd over (4-1) and Dan Freeman (3) was caught by keeper Mellor off Tom Milnes in the 5th, Notts moving to 16-2 in the 5th.
