Stuart Broad’s comeback game for Nottinghamshire has been confirmed for the Specsavers County Championship fixture against Lancashire, starting on Sunday 17 April.

Broad’s most recent red ball action was when he bowled England to a Test series victory in South Africa in January.

The 29-year-old will go head-to-head with his international new ball partner James Anderson in the fixture at Emirates Old Trafford.

He will then be aiming to dislodge another high profile teammate in Joe Root when Nottinghamshire face Yorkshire at Trent Bridge starting on Sunday 1 May, the same fixture in which Alex Hales is due to make his return from the ICC World T20.

James Taylor and Samit Patel, who completed the quartet of England internationals during the winter, will both start the county season and are likely to face Cambridge MCCU in the university curtain raiser starting tomorrow.

The 2015 season saw dramatic last-gasp four day victories, thrilling limited-overs contests and an historic Investec Ashes Test, all in the unique surroundings of Trent Bridge.

Next season, we’d wager, will be no less enthralling and frankly we’d hate for you to miss out.
