Notts academy suffered defeat by 51 runs in their Nottinghamshire Premier League game against Plumtree at Lady Bay.
Bowling first, they were set 211 to win by the away side after Ollie Soames hit a patient 88.
Riecko Parker-Cole took four wickets to leave Plumtree nine down at the end of their fifty overs.
In reply, the academy reached 159 all out with Tom Keast top scoring with 47 and Connor Marshall making 44.
The academy now sit seventh in the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board Premier League with four games to go.
