Nottinghamshire CCC’s Chief Executive Lisa Pursehouse is ‘delighted’ to have been awarded an MBE for her services to Sports, Charity Engagement and Community Development.

The prestigious accolade has been bestowed on the 48-year-old in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, which marks her majesty’s official birthday.

“It’s a great honour and it came as a huge surprise, but I’m delighted to receive it. It’s a big deal for anyone,” she said.

“I've worked in the game for 20 years and I love my job. I've been very lucky to have a career in cricket. It's offered me some fantastic experiences and I have some wonderful memories.

“I work at a great Club and with some talented and committed people, so it feels like it's not just for me, but for what we all do.

“We are a big part of our community and, through the work of the (Trent Bridge) Community Trust, we've worked on some great initiatives and will continue to do so.”

Lisa joined the Trent Bridge team in October 2000 as Marketing Manager, having previously worked for Yorkshire CCC.

She then worked her way up through the Club as Commercial Director, Commercial Operations Director and Deputy Chief Executive, before succeeding Derek Brewer as Chief Executive in 2012 – becoming the first female to take up that role in County Cricket.

As Chair of the Trent Bridge Community Trust, Lisa is very proud of the work the charity has done since its inception.

She added: “The community work is a major part of what we do, and we’re a big part of Nottinghamshire life, so it’s really important to me that as a professional sports club we work within our community.

“Not only do we entertain people, but we want to support people too – and I think that is something we should always do.

“I’ve been very lucky to have two very good Chief Executives in David Collier and Derek Brewer from which to learn. It was David who first brought me to Trent Bridge and Derek who made me his Deputy.

“I haven’t really had chance to think about it yet, but it would probably have to rank at the top of my list of personal achievements.

“It will probably soak in in the next week or so, and the way I will probably get used to it is that all of us at Trent Bridge have worked to get this honour… it’s our MBE.”
