Luke Wood blasted a rapid century at the top of the order as Nottinghamshire’s Second XI emerged victorious by 104 runs away at Durham.

The all-rounder, making his return from injury as a batsman, struck 15 fours and two sixes on his way to 121 off 115 balls in the Outlaws’ total of 328-7.

Greg Smith scored 93 and shared a stand of 147 with Wood. Jake Libby, batting at number four, scored 44 off 40 balls and Brett Hutton 22 off 12.

Durham, in reply, could only muster 224-9 at Chester-Le-Street with Matthew Carter’s off-spin taking 3-28.
