A partnership of 141 from Luke Wood and Paul Coughlin saw Nottinghamshire’s Second XI post a mammoth total on the opening day of their clash with Yorkshire at Lady Bay.

The home side reached 432 all out from their first innings following Wood’s top score of 92 from 77 balls and a knock of 86 from Coughlin.

Their partnership rescued Notts somewhat after being reduced to 118-5.

Liam Patterson-White and Matt Carter also notched fifties in the latter stages of the innings, with Chris Nash making 30 on his first game back from a shoulder injury that kept him out of the majority of the Outlaws T20 campaign.

Yorkshire closed the first day on 70 without loss with opener Harry Brook closing in on a half century on 41* after a high scoring day in Nottingham.
