Alex Hales will miss at least the Outlaws’ next four Vitality T20 Blast fixtures in order to recover from a side strain he suffered whilst on England duty.

The batsman had been in good form with a half century in the T20 against India at Cardiff and a starring 147 in England’s world record total of 481-6 at Trent Bridge.

But Hales will now miss home ties against local rivals Leicestershire (Friday, July 20), Lancashire (Friday, July 27) and Derbyshire (Thursday, August 2) as well as the trip to Durham (Saturday July 28) after sitting out England’s 2-1 ODI series win over India.

Club physio James Pipe will continue to assess the injury.
