Nottinghamshire batsman Jake Libby has kept up his run of excellent form with the bat by hitting 142 not out for his native county of Cornwall in the Minor Counties Championship.

Not involved with the Notts Outlaws’ Vitality Blast squad who played and won at Leicestershire Foxes on Sunday, the opener was released to play in the three-day match at Devon.

And as the Cornish team completed their highest ever successful run chase in making 335-4, Libby backed up his first innings 67 with an even better, unbeaten knock to lead the charge.

Libby previously scored his first century of the season for Notts in the Specsavers County Championship draw with Worcestershire at Trent Bridge at the end of June.

Elsewhere, after former Notts player Bilal Shafayat scored 101 not out in Lincolnshire’s first innings against Cambridgeshire, his team wrapped up a 116-run success at Cleethorpes.
