Head Coach Peter Moores believes his side need to work hard to find quick wickets as Essex headed into the final day of their Specsavers County Championship clash on top.

The visitors closed the third day on 147-1, needing a further 135 to win following a stand of 130 between Tom Westley (45*) and Murali Vijay, who claimed his second fifty in the match to finish unbeaten on 73*.

Nottinghamshire totalled 337 in their second innings with skipper Steven Mullaney (53), Ben Slater (54) and Kraigg Brathwaite (68) all making fifties, initially setting Essex a total of 282 to win.
