Nottinghamshire seconds wrapped up a resounding victory by an innings and 142 runs over Glamorgan in their Second Eleven friendly fixture at Sophia Gardens.

After resuming 204-2, Notts eventually made 444 in their first innings thanks to a knock of 110 from Will Fraine and half centuries from Billy Root and trialist wicket-keeper Sam Hall.

Root and Fraine added 107 runs for the third wicket stand before both fell in quick succession.

Paul Coughlin, who was skippering the side, added 45 from just 35 deliveries before Hall made his fifty from 61 balls.

In reply, Glamorgan were skittled out for 117 as the Notts bowling attack again shared the wickets around.
Coughlin did the initial damage removing both Glamorgan openers cheaply leaving the home side 46-2.

That quickly became 95-6 thanks to two wickets for Andrew Brewster and one apiece for Liam Patterson-White and Jordan Cook.

Jack Blatherwick dismissed Roman Walker for 15 before Lyndon James rounded off the innings with figures of 3-0 from only one and a half overs.
