Nottinghamshire skipper Steven Mullaney admitted his side were deservedly beaten by Essex over the four days of their Specsavers County Championship clash at Trent Bridge.
Essex were victorious by an innings and 123 runs as the home side were dismissed for 183 on the final day of the game.
