A promising final day of Nottinghamshire’s Second XI clash with Lancashire was curtailed by the rain, with the game petering out into a draw.

Resuming on 35-2, Notts were prevented from resuming their innings until 2pm by the conditions,

The hosts were then able to add almost thirty to their tally before Adeel Shafique was adjudged lbw for 24.

Liam Patterson-White was joined by seconds’ skipper Lyndon James, and the pair would compile another 30-run stand before the weather closed in to see off the prospect of any further play with Notts on 95-3.

Patterson-White would finish unbeaten on 40, to add to his first-innings 124, while Lyndon James made 13* as Notts took 13 points from their clash with the league leaders.
