Day two of Nottinghamshire’s County Championship clash with Hampshire was washed out at Welbeck Cricket Club.

With the forecast looking ominous overnight, drizzle began in the hour before the scheduled start of play, with the rain only increasing in intensity as the morning progressed.

An early lunch was taken at 12.30, but by 1.45pm it was decided that conditions were unlikely to recover sufficiently, and the day’s play was called off.

Nottinghamshire and Hampshire will be hoping for better luck tomorrow, when the visitors will look to resume their innings on 93-2.
