Coverage plans for the ICC Cricket World Cup have been announced, with fans being taken closer to the action than ever before.

The competition is being held in England and Wales for the first time in 20 years, with five games taking place at Trent Bridge.

Over a billion people are expected to tune into the tournament worldwide, and they will be able to enjoy the insight of some of the game’s most respected broadcasters, including former England captains Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain.

The duo will be joined by Brendon McCullum, Michael Holding, Isa Guha and Alison Mitchell amongst others, while Michael Clarke will make his commentary debut covering the tournament he won as Australia skipper in 2015.

All 48 fixtures and ten warm-up matches will be broadcast live, with innovations including ultra-motion Hawk-Eye cameras to give viewers a superior understanding of the decision-making process.

Spidercam and a drone camera, meanwhile, will show off the splendour of Trent Bridge from a unique new perspective, with Buggy Cam providing a ground-level view of proceedings.

Analysis will be given an edge too thanks to 360° replays and the Cricviz statistics system.

“I am excited to welcome such a talented team of broadcasters to ICC TV, they will bring to life the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup for more than a billion fans around the world," said Aarti Dabad, the ICC’s Head of Media Rights, Broadcast and Digital.

“Our focus for this event has been on bringing fans closer to cricket than ever before and our comprehensive host broadcast plan delivers this.”
