Chris Nash’s first bowl in red ball cricket since 2018 heralded three wickets as Nottinghamshire dismissed Yorkshire for 264 on day one.

Notts reached stumps on 13 for the loss of Nash, after Matt Carter (2-44), Zak Chappell (2-64), Samit Patel (2-72) and Jake Ball (1-41) had helped the opener come off-spinner work through the visitors’ batting line-up in stifling conditions at Trent Bridge.

Jordan Thompson (98) narrowly missed out on a maiden First-Class hundred for Yorkshire.
