Stuart Broad has been nominated for the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year award.

The Nottinghamshire seamer enjoyed a stellar summer on the international stage, taking 29 wickets at 13.41 across five Tests against West Indies and Pakistan.

The 34-year-old is seventh on the all-time list of leading Test wicket takers, having passed 500 scalps this summer.

Broad joins Lewis Hamilton on the shortlist for the BBC’s showpiece award, with four more contenders still to be confirmed.

The winner, which will be decided by a public vote, will be announced on BBC One on Sunday 20 December.
