John Stephenson, the MCC's current Head of Cricket, is set to speak at the next meeting of the Nottingham Cricket Lovers' Society on Thursday 27 February.

Stephenson, who has served in the position since 2004, enjoyed a 20-year professional career with Essex and Hampshire and made a solitary Test appearance against Australia in 1989.

The event will take place in the Derek Randall Suite from 7.30pm, with attendance costing £5 for non-members of the Society.

The Society's final meeting of the winter, which will double as its Annual General Meeting, will feature former Zimbabwe Captain Tatenda Taibu as guest speaker.
