Nottinghamshire Assistant Coach Ant Botha reflected on a tough day with the bat in hand as the Green and Golds responded with 165-7 after Durham were all out for 330.

At an overcast Trent Bridge, Nottinghamshire found themselves 26-3 before battling knocks, first from Lyndon James, and then from Tom Moores and Liam Patterson-White, allowed Nottinghamshire to close 165 behind.

Whilst pleased with the lower order fightback, Botha pointed to fledgling partnerships which failed to kick on as a frustration on the second afternoon as Chris Rushworth and Brydon Carse removed the middle order.

The Assistant Coach also spoke of his pride in seeing James and Patterson-White take the field together, after years working with them in the Pathway system.
