Head Coach Peter Moores heaped praise on Ben Slater and Lyndon James after their half-centuries were crucial in securing a hard fought opening draw of the LV= Insurance County Championship season.

After three days of cricket which showcased the ebb and flow of the longer format, Nottinghamshire were left with 96 overs to bat on the final day, a feat which required being calm under pressure according to Moores.

Slater and James, as well as Steven Mullaney and Joe Clarke, delivered just that, with Moores especially pleased that the team started strongly in the red-ball format on home turf.
