Even in the depths of September the class of Joe Clarke is evident for all to see as the Nottinghamshire batsmen scored a sublime century on the opening day of the final County Championship fixture of the summer.

The 25-year-old brought up his 19th First-Class century in style, with a maximum off Ben Coad, to notch his first red-ball ton of the summer to go with a club-high seven half-centuries.

He found fine support in Joey Evison late on day one, who himself brought up a maiden First-Class half-century, as Nottinghamshire finished on 292-9.

Watch full highlights from day one above.
