Nottinghamshire's Assistant Coach Kevin Shine underlined the hard work put in by the Green and Golds' seamers behind the scenes after Hampshire were bowled out on an attritional first day at the Ageas Bowl.

Led by Dane Paterson, Luke Fletcher and Brett Hutton, Notts dismissed the hosts for 226, and finished the day 29 for one, 197 in arrears.

Shine praised the efforts of emerging talent Joey Evison - making a comeback from injury after a maiden first-class five-wicket haul against Durham and experienced captain Steven Mullaney, too, after the pair took a wicket each.
