Fresh from a comprehensive innings victory over Durham - Nottinghamshire’s second win in three matches - the Green and Golds are looking to build momentum with the visit of Worcestershire in the LV= Insurance County Championship.

The visitors themselves are unbeaten this year, with a draw against Leicestershire and a victory over Sussex their rewards for toil in the early season.

Every ball of the four-day clash will be streamed live through Trent Bridge Live, featuring BBC commentary with the ever-present Dave Bracegirdle, multi-camera angles, replays, and post-match reaction from the Notts camp.

And there are several intriguing storylines to feast upon over the duration of the fixture.

International Experience Collides

There will be Test match cricket experience aplenty when Stuart Broad and Azhar Ali face off on the Trent Bridge turf on Thursday, with those who tune in afforded the chance to witness a tussle of the highest quality.

Broad has enjoyed some success against the 37-year-old, dismissing the right hander during his stint at Somerset in 2019, and, here at Trent Bridge in 2010 - the year of Ali’s Test debut -  when England and Pakistan jostled in an infamous four-match series.

This County Championship campaign, Ali has struggled to get going with scores of one, two and 20 to his name thus far. But the former captain of his country averages 43 in Tests for good reason, and will be out to make hay on his return to West Bridgford.

A potential battle between the pair awaits, and every delivery is available to view online.

Quick Out The Blocks

Nottinghamshire’s spinner Liam Patterson-White tops the Division Two wicket taking charts with 18 scalps from the first three games, including two five-fers. It means he has taken three five-wicket hauls in his last five first-class games - a commendable record indeed.

That his success has come so early in the season is all the more impressive.

So too is the volume of runs scored across the divisions this year, and with Worcestershire’s Brett D’Oliveria having chalked up two centuries this year, he finds himself just shy of 300 runs for the season with only two games played.

A contest between the two men with lightning fast starts to their respective campaigns is set to be a thriller, and you can watch every ball live.

Head To Head

The clash will be Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire’s 134th in first-class cricket, with the Green and Golds having come out on top on 47 times. The Pears, meanwhile, have won on 36 occasions.

Nottinghamshire are the form team in the head-to-head, unbeaten in their last four outings, with Worcestershire’s most recent win in red ball cricket coming in 2017.

With both sides aiming to occupy the leading slots in the division in the early stages, this particular tie is set to be a fascinating affair, and you can tune in here.
