Alex Hales and Ben Duckett have been selected by Desert Vipers for the inaugural edition of the International League T20, to be played in early 2023.

Hales, who recently passed 10,000 career runs in T20 cricket with a blistering Trent Bridge half-century for Trent Rockets, currently sits eighth in the all-time list of run-scorers in the game’s shortest format.

Duckett, meanwhile, top-scored for the Outlaws in the 2022 edition of the Vitality Blast, with his 396 runs including three half-centuries.

The Notts duo will be joined at Desert Vipers by Tom Curran, Sheldon Cottrell and Sam Billings, with James Foster heading up the coaching staff.

Outlaws all-rounder Samit Patel will also spend the New Year in the UAE, having been picked up by MI Emirates.

The ILT20 commences on 6 January 2023, with the final set to take place on 12 February.
