Notts claimed three wickets in the 48.4 overs possible on the first day of their Championship clash against Lancashire, with the visitors amassing 179 at Lady Bay.

Byron Hatton-Lowe, Freddie McCann, and Travis Holland all claimed one scalp each before the rain set in.

Their dismissals helped to peg the Red Rose back after they added 122 for their first wicket.

Opener Keshan Fonseca made 72 before he was trapped lbw by McCann, whilst his partner James O’Sullivan was caught by Qundeel Haider at point off Holland for 67.

Wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Strong was then caught by Lucas Stentiford at square leg with Jack Stanley and Luke Prescott unbeaten.
