Suffolk’s Evelyn Whitmore’s five-wicket haul helped her side to a narrow three wicket win over Notts Outlaws in the U18 Royal London County Cup quarter final at Blidworth Colliery Cricket Club.

Maddie Ward, Nora Masterson and Olivia Baker all made scores in the 20s but, despite a handful of  further contributions in the teens, the Outlaws were restricted to 178 all out with three balls left of their 40 overs having chosen to bat first.

Notts reduced the visitors to 148/7 in reply, with Ella Porter collecting three wickets and Libby Armitage two, but the eighth wicket partnership added 34 runs to see Suffolk over the line.
