Australian all-rounder Dan Christian will bring welcomed depth to the Outlaws ranks in both the batting and bowling department after being announced as the club’s newest overseas signing.

The 32-year-old has had an illustrious career in the shortest format all over the world having represented Brisbane Heat, Deccan Chargers, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Middlesex and Hampshire, along with many others.

The Australian international has represented his country 15 times in Twenty20 Internationals, taking a best of 3-27 against West Indies in 2012.

Christian is one of few players of Aboriginal heritage to play at the highest level, coming from the Wiradjuri tribe in New South Wales, and was captain of the national indigenous development squad on a tour of England back in 2009.

He is known well on these shores as a T20 winner with Hampshire in 2010, whilst his maiden century in the format came for Middlesex last summer, when he scored 129 off 57 balls against Kent.

In his 146 domestic T20 matches he has a total of 122 wickets at an average of 27.72 and 1,991 runs at a strike rate of over 125.

In state cricket he has represented three teams, New South Wales, South Australia and most recently Victoria and at the start of 2014 he was in the top 50 leading wicket-takers of all time in T20s.
