Alex Hales has been named John Pye Auctions Player of the Month for June after enjoying a productive period at the top of the order in the Vitality Blast.

The 33-year-old hit 302 runs across nine T20 appearances during the month, including three half-centuries.

The opener briefly threatened to hit the fastest ton in T20 history against Derbyshire, ultimately striking 91 from 33 deliveries as the Outlaws coasted to victory.

Hales went on to make a quickfire 30 from nine balls in a rain-affected clash against Birmingham Bears, before striking 44 from 16 in a winning cause at Leicester.

The right-hander then bludgeoned back-to-back scores of 55 at Trent Bridge against the Foxes and the Falcons.

Hales was presented with his award by Tom Fishwick from John Pye Auctions, and Marcellus Baz from Switch-Up Nottingham.
