Nottinghamshire showed fight on the second day against Worcestershire at Lady Bay, taking the visitors’ final four wickets for 35 in the morning session before amassing 317, eight short of the Pears’ first innings total. 

Jack Pierce bowled Adam Finch (29) and Tom Fell (82), who shared 101 for the 7th wicket, with James Hayes collecting the wickets of Pat Brown and Ollie Davidson to finish with fine figures of 4-62 from his 22.1 overs. 

In response, Sol Budinger top scored with an 80-ball 76, while Matt Carter also made it to fifty at a run-a-ball. 

Meanwhile Dane Schadendorf and Ben Wilcox both made it to the forties before their demise, while there were starts for Ben Martindale, Ximus Du Plooy and Travis Holland. 

Left arm orthodox bowler Davidson finished with figures of 6-111 from 26 overs, before Josh Dell and Rehaan Edavalath batted through the remaining 14 overs to close on 33/0, a lead of 41.
