Nottinghamshire were set a target of 455 to win by Leicestershire on the third day at Uppingham School, with Louis Kimber scoring 142 despite resilient display from the Notts bowlers.

Sammy King added to his first innings 48 with three wickets and a run out, while Calvin Harrison took two and Jack Peirce added to his overnight scalp.

Roman Walker scored an unbeaten half century after Sam Evans made 44, while various cameos offered the opportunity for Kimber’s 175-ball vigil.

Leicestershire concluded their innings 309/8, having bowled the Nottinghamshire out 145 short of their first innings total.

Sol Budinger and Matt Montgomery added 121 for the first wicket inside 22 overs before the loss of the former for 68, but Montgomery and Qundeel Haider withstood the four further overs of play possible in the fourth innings, finishing 128/1 with a further 327 required on day four.
