Warwickshire secured victory by six wickets despite contributions of 89 from Ben Martindale and 57 from Dane Schadendorf on day three of the Second XI Championship at Lady Bay, the visitors chasing 177 to triumph with a day to spare.

Resuming 15 runs in arrears, Martindale added 128 alongside nightwatchman James Hayes and Schadendorf  before becoming the fourth wicket to fall with Notts on 215. 

The Green and Golds’ final six wickets added 65 with Sammy King (31) the only batter to make it past 10 as spinners Jake Lintott and Jacob Bethell claimed five wickets between them. 

Fateh Singh took three of the four Bears wickets as the away side mounted their response, Matthew Montgomery claiming the other Warwickshire scalp with Rob Yates guiding his side to victory with an unbeaten 89.
