Nottinghamshire maintained a 100% record and secured a quarter final berth in the Royal London County Cup with a tight 18 run win over Derbyshire at Lullington Park Cricket Club.

The narrowest triumph of their campaign saw contributions across the squad, Diya Badge and captain Sadie Hodgson top scoring with 29 and 28* respectively as Notts were asked to bat first.

24 from Ella Porter, 19 from Annie Williams and 17 from Rhiannon Knowling-Davies helped the Outlaws to set a target of 156 in 40 overs.

The hosts made hay in their reply, and regular Notts wickets did little to stunt the progress of Derbyshire, despite Libby Armitage bowling Priya Kondratiuk for 40.

That was until the 22nd over when on 89/3 - requiring 67 from their final 18 overs - Hodgson, who finished with 3-20 from eight overs, took two in two balls to swing the momentum.

The Outlaws took three further wickets for the addition of 31 runs and, despite a ninth wicket stand worth 17, Notts were over the line with nine balls to spare.

Armitage and Maddie Ward both finished with two wickets apiece to see Notts top Group 3 in the competition.

They will play the winner of Group 4 in the quarter-final at Blidworth Colliery on August 15.
