Nottinghamshire captain Steven Mullaney has been named John Pye Auctions Player of the Month for May, after enjoying a productive month with the bat.

Mullaney smashed a century off just 55 balls – the fastest First-Class ton ever recorded by a Notts batter (when measured by balls faced) as the Green and Golds piled on the runs against Middlesex at Lord’s.

The skipper also amassed 92 runs in Nottinghamshire’s first-innings total of 415, as the visitors enjoyed the better of a draw in the capital.

Mullaney also led his side to a ten-wicket victory over Derbyshire that consolidated Notts’ position amongst the leading contenders in Division Two of the LV= Insurance County Championship.

The all-rounder joins Ben Duckett (April) in earning recognition for his efforts during the course of the 2022 season.
